Amie: Look at the tender little leaves, they have just hatched from their buds. Buds are the wombs of trees. They can give birth to leaves and blossoms.

Amie: They've been dreaming here for a winter.
Linda: What did they dream about? Were they told stories? From their tree mom, from the wind or the rain? From the moon? Could they feel her?

Amie: What you see here is the so called mouse ear phase* of a young leaf.
*In German this phase of new leaves is called «Mausohrstadium»
Maus=mouse Ohr=ear Stadium=phase

Linda: Mouse ear stadium! Does that really mean: mouse ear stadium? Can we come back tomorrow? I really want to show this to Jiminy. I'm so excited to see if I know anything now that Doc hasn't read about.
Amie: Yes, let's have a look tomorrow, fig leaves grow up very quickly.
